Amira

My name is Amira, I am 24 years old. I’m a self-taught abstract artist based in North Brabant. I’ve been creating for whole my life but started painting intentionally in 2017.

I believe art is a piece of you that comes in all shapes and forms which doesn’t necessarily have to be one way or another. I started creating when I experienced difficulty with expressing myself vocally and had a hard time regulating my thoughts & emotions in my younger years. The best way for me was to sit in my emotions and let it all out on pape. And when I did, I fell in love with creating. You can even call it an addiction at this point. But besides that.

Art is supposed to make you feel. It’s even more amazing to be able to share that experience, it’s a powerful tool to use to connect with one another. They say art is a language itself which I resonate deeply with. I share my values, desires, my emotions, my deepest parts of me when I paint. It’s the time where I can truly look within and completely be honest with myself. My arabic heritage has always been a part of me which I love to share in my paintings. The use of plaster and acrylic’s are my go to. The rest is upto my imagination and whatever I feel is what I would create. To have the opportunity to share this experience is a thing that I cherish wholeheartedly.
